When our dog Petey was alive, Annie would guard her food bowl for hours so Petey couldn’t eat it or even look at it. More than once this little 6 pound dog got in the face of Petey who was 25 pounds. Annie has even taken on our granddog, Cash, who weighs 75 pounds.
Now that Petey is gone she no longer has to guard her food bowl but now she needs two food bowls with food in both bowls. A lot of the time she won’t eat until we move food from one bowl to the empty one. She will dig at her bowl until we put food it. Not because she is hungry but because she just wants food available when she is ready.
Our routine in the morning is for me to get her out of her crate, make myself some coffee and then sit down to watch the news. Annie jumps up in the chair and then onto my shoulder to sit until my wife gets out of bed or until I get ready for work.

Hank is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd/Irish Setter mix. He loves the lake as well but he has no interest in chasing tennis balls.

TeQuila enjoys learning new “cleaver tricks” I think up and willingly shows off for her “little pack” of our four grandchildren. When they visit, she switches her attention to them and never leaves them – not sure if she worries they will get her toys or more likely, they will drop a sock or toy which she devours.
TeQuila is very fashion conscious, sometimes eating entire wardrobes of matching socks, t-shirts, etc. If you can catch her she is always so sad…likely because she got caught. I see no indications this conduct is changing in spite of the time she spends in “time out.”
Water…..well now she excels at water and willingly walks into and stands under water of any kind. In the shower, she relaxes and enjoys the warm water streaming over her face. Once washed though she wants to be to be dried with the hair dryer… even when she is already dry. (Go figure!)
Daycare is not her favorite place to go. TeQuila is working on establishing friends there. Right now her main pal (though not at daycare) is Loki (my daughter’s rescue dog). When Loki visits, Tequila does not want to go outside, eat or go to bed unless Loki is with her. They are becoming good pals besides being relatives.
Well there she is so far….
Remington, Oakley, Jerry, and Ronni Chism
This is how Shinobi would “help” Stefanie while she was studying for the exam. He’s called Shinobi because he managed to hide from Stefanie for four hours right after she got him and she thought he managed to get outside when he was just sleeping in a kitchen cabinet! He also has the amazing ability to get up REALLY high and not be able to get down.

Johnny Rockefeller Cash Eatmon
When I’m not party rockin’ I do love to take naps and snuggle. You will always know when I’m asleep by my loud snore. I also love to bask in the sun on a warm day because the sun feels so nice. When my mom lets me join her I love car rides too!
